    The short version: We collect only what we need to run LEAP C.O. We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. Students under 13 should have a parent or guardian review this with them.
  

Who we are

LEAP C.O. ("LEAP," "we," "us," or "our") is a student-founded nonprofit organization. We operate three platforms:

LEAP C.O. website — the main site you're on now
Tutor Mission — a free peer tutoring platform
LEAP Finder — an AI-powered internship and summer program finder

What information we collect

When you submit the chapter join form (on this website), we collect:

Your name
Your school email address
Your school name
The chapter track you're interested in

When you create an account on Tutor Mission, we collect:

Your name and email address (used for login)
Your role (student, tutor, or parent)
Optional: bio, grade, subjects, availability hours
Booking and session history tied to your account

When you use LEAP Finder, we collect:

An anonymous device identifier (randomly generated, stored locally)
Programs you save, your application statuses, and your student profile — if you choose to fill one in
Any program reviews you submit

How we use your information

To connect you with the LEAP chapter or platform you expressed interest in
To match students with tutors and manage bookings on Tutor Mission
To save your preferences and program lists in LEAP Finder across devices
To send you a reply when you submit the chapter interest form
To improve our platforms (aggregate, non-identifying usage data only)

How we store your information

All data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), a secure cloud database operated by Google LLC. Data is protected by Firebase security rules that restrict access to only your own data. Tutor Mission session data is only accessible to the student and tutor involved.

We do not use cookies for tracking. LEAP Finder uses your browser's localStorage to cache your saved programs locally for speed.

Who can see your information

LEAP chapter form submissions — only LEAP founder/admin accounts
Tutor Mission profiles — tutor profiles are visible to logged-in users; student profiles are private
LEAP Finder data — your saved programs and profile are private to your device; program reviews you submit are public

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.

Children's privacy

LEAP platforms are designed for high school students (typically ages 14–18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information to us, please contact us at project.leap.co@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

Your rights

You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by emailing us at project.leap.co@gmail.com. We will respond within 14 days.

On Tutor Mission, you can update your profile at any time from your dashboard.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Google Firebase — database and authentication (firebase.google.com/support/privacy)
Google Fonts — web fonts loaded from Google's CDN

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our platforms grow. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of our platforms after a change means you accept the updated policy.
